LEAN GOVERNMENT

ESTG Inc’s Lean Government’s strategy is to help government agencies, municipalities, and non-profit organizations develop a culture of continuous improvement with an emphasis on the relentless elimination of waste that leads to value added and non value added activities. We help by identifying complex and burdensome business processes that create waste and inefficiency. By applying Lean principles, our customers can strive for better organizational performance, streamlined processes, and customer-focused services.

Lean Government Defined

Lean symbolizes a new way of doing business. Continuous improvement is a necessity in today’s competitive workplace and ESTG Inc. is a consulting company that has the capability to help Government agencies and Non-Governmental agencies to develop and implement lean government principles that are anchored in the tenets of lean business principles.

Implementation of these principles will help the agencies toincrease the value of their services to both the business community and individuals as well as reduce operational and non operational cost. Implementing Lean also assists government agencies, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations in streamlining their work processes resulting in significant cost and resource savings. Lean Government adopts waste-reducing concepts typically used in a manufacturing and other operations management environment and applies the principles to procedures in government.

The key to lean government is the development and utilization of standardized work. Standardized work is a method used to precisely define work tasks and the specific sequence that those tasks must be performed relative to customer demand. Without standardized work, process variability, reliability and capability are unpredictable.

Other Expectations of Lean:

¨Increased productivity

¨Fewer errors

¨Exceeding customer expectations

¨Improved employee satisfaction

¨ Empowered staff

The Lean Team

Our lean team is comprised of experts who are dedicated to productivity, efficiency and quality process improvements. We utilize staff members of all work experience and backgrounds to participate at various levels of lean implementation depending on their interest and willingness to learn new skill sets.

To become a lean team leader, the department must accommodate the workloads and scheduling shall always be accounted for and accommodated. For an agency to effectively implement lean government, it must implement strategies that include training sessions for lean facilitators as ongoing staff development procedure. Capacity building for lean trainers for both internal and external processes is a necessity. A champion of each work unit throughout the Department is chosen voluntarily to expedite quality reviews and continuous improvement processes for their particular unit or organization.
