Sequenced Parts Delivery Services (SPD)/ Kanban
Due to the advent of modular assemblies and the need for major OEM’s and their Tier One suppliers to cut cost, the concepts of sequenced parts delivery has become very important for manufacturing companies. This concept known at Ford Motor Company as In-Line Vehicle Sequencing (ILVS) and at DaimlerChrysler Corporation as Sequenced Parts delivery (SPD) can helpOEM’s recoup substantial savings in a Vehicle program if properly executed. If not properly executed, it could present a logistic nightmare during program launch, as well as in ongoing production. Therefore, with organizations like ESTG Inc, a company will be able to develop and implement effective SPD or ILVS strategies. We will help our customers using the following strategies:
¨Guide or assist our customers and their clients to develop strategies for sequencing operations with the goal of eliminating waste from the value stream.
¨Develop and implement strategies for sequencing assembly modules and components through the manufacturing line.
¨Help customers understand the importance of delivery windows and where in their customer assembly or process line the module may be installed. This is important to develop the Takt time for the supplier manufacturing process as well as the delivery time from the supplier to the customer.
¨Develop and implement containment, repair and replacement strategies to minimize down time at their customer facilities as a result of defective sequenced assemblies, modules, parts or components.
¨Represent our customers in meetings dealing with logistics, manufacturing and product issues that may be arise due to the Sequencing strategy. Help resolve the issues on behalf of our customers.
